Fade to Oblivion by Fahim Ferdous Promi Preview - Review

I recently recieved a preview of "Fade to Oblivion: Cradle of Lost Memories", authored by Fahim Ferdous Promi. Whilst not necesarily something I'd choose to read normally, it has a great, albeit long, title, and a promising premise. This books release is TBC.
The book opens with a lot of great description, really setting the scene. It's terribly clear the author has a knack for the use of colours and scenery, creating a wonderful image in my head. There are a lot of interesting words scattered through the preview, some I've personally never used, as well as some made-up words. The fantasy theme is running strong through the preview, and it's clear what the genre is from the get-go.

Crows Among Doves Update... Again

Well, yeah, this blog has sort of been dedicted to it. Whilst I do have a sideproject, Ashen, it's taken a little bit of a side track and I haven't even looked at the folder the file is in for a long time. I'm trying to get CAD done and done PROPERLY. I'm on the hunt for a better editor, as the one I'm using now has sort-of... abandoned me? I Cry Every Tiem.

How to Get "in the Zone" for Writing | NaNoWriMo Tips & Tricks

Hello everyone! Seems like forever since I last posted, which is partly accurate. So, whenever I write, I tend to write an awful lot, and I put that down to being in "the zone". It's a really cool mind-place where I gear myself towards writing, and focus on that! It's pretty cool, and that's one of the reasons I write so much, I think.
Ergo it makes sense, to me at least, to let you guys know how I get to that state of mind, and let you guys know how you can get there too.

Women in Modern Media (Books, TV, Games)

In modern media, women have beome something of a debate. To sexualise or not to sexualise? Sex sells, according to directors, producers and almost everyone working in the media industry, and this is a problem that has been an issue in books, television, and video games.
This is a book blog, though I feel it is important to address this issue across all media platforms: books inspire other media, and other media inspires books. Do you think this is an issue? I'm going to be debating this especially with regards to video games, that I have grown up with.

In both life and in writing, I find it is very important to stay organised. Why? Well, you can easily  get lost, forget what you're doing, things like that. How to Start a Blog

This topic comes up rather frequently, and the answer really is just as simple as signing up to Tumblr, Blogger, Wordpress or whatever else takes your fancy. As you might know, I run my website and blog out of Blogger. Why? Because this blog was originally called Miss Overture and it was my  general blog for, well, everything. Eventually it evolved into Overture Writing and that lasted all of a day before it went straight back to Miss Overture. Now? It's my primary author website, has its own domain and is now called Kristin James. Wanna know how I get 1000 plus views a month? Usually gaining an additional 100 per new post? Read on!
